Sunday 26th 2010 (late evening)
Spent a lovely (bitterly cold) day motorcycle racing practice dayon Friday. thoroughly enjoyable, and saw the top lads at work thrillingly super quick, much changed in the three years that due to health and other reasons have been unable to visit Silverstone, now they have secured all the top m/c race days both internationally and nationally, so trust shall be visiting a wee bit more reguarly in the future, and wonder of wonders, it was FREE, only pay on the actual race day (Sunday) couldn't believe it but very much appreciated by all and sundry, long may it go on.?? then Sat after my early morning prayers was off to visit London particuarly "The Metropolitan Tabernacle" again a great day that was tinged with a wee bit of sadness as I couldnt go into the main sanctuary because of a conference that was on,but did get some Good lierature and three Good books from their book shop which I look forward to reading in due course, Plus a lovely talk with one of the church members I met and was given a personal invitation to one of their services where i was told they were over 500 worshipers every week, plus an invite to free luncheon afterwards. I was told that would be the best way to look around as most saturdays were usually being used by many other churches and christian organization's so have decided to accept the invitation,on one sunday soon, spent a nice two or tree hours looking around central London, picked up two tickets for Cathy and to go up in November for the show. "Phantom of the Opera" then a spot of tea and then a good drive home to arrive after a full day at seven o clock, very tired but satisfied. was pleased at the selection of Ed milliband as the new leader of the party I support I think he will succeed, and hopefully one day lead our country altogether a pleasing and saisfying week end ptP.

TI havn'thursday Sept 23rd 2010
I havn't posted for a week or more, for no other reason than I have been very very busy on some new projects, and my church work has been joyfully loaded, plus more than a few social issues have been working on, so just to let you know I am still around and very much alive, we have been to the theatre to see "Chess" and thoroughly enjoyed it, we took cathy with us as she loves the theatre as much as we do, particuarly musicals, very recomendable, and enjoyable, a packed theatre shows that people (even in these difficult days) will support them providing they produce good theatre, we both (cathy and I) sadly Eileen feels shecannot sit through, are looking forward to the NAOP, production next months "Jesus Christ Superstar" one we have watched many times at various venue's and never been dissapointed, a fabulous musical, we have asked a very dear friend at fellowship part of our house group to come with us, and she expressed her delight she to classes it as one of her favourites to, so our little group grows aand I feel we shall add as the days go by we are concentrating at moment on the shared "Alpha" courses running at many of our local churches, and of course nationally to, this has kept us on our toes but we are ready for tonights launh at St Giles, my particular favourite Anglican fellowship, I always feel at home there, they follow a similar but not totally way of worship I am more at home with, praise God for the diversity we enjoy, I do recognise there are many ways within the Christian Church to worship God but always feel this is more historically and scripturally nearer the ways of the first churches as we can read in the "some of the ACTS of some Apostles" a more correct title of ACTS as recorded for us in the NEW TESTAMOUNT, well here we go, a different day Friday, weather allowing a visit to look at my favourite sport "motor cycle racing" at Silverstone, so shall be resting in a different environment, am trusting but the forecast is not so good but we shall see. Tuesday (latish) 14th sept 2010.
A full day again, we have started a new miday prayer time for those who are free during the daytime, I believe this is not only right but the two we have put on so far have in my humble opinion been very fluent ,fully flowing, filled with praise, meditation and petition, I firmly believe that prayer which sadly in the church general is often looked upon as the cinderella rather than the Royalty of all the meetings held, I often quote from a prayer I borrow from the vast resouvoir of Charles Haddon Spurgeon, He said " Prayer is the lubricant that oils the wheels of the wagon that keeps the Church rolling" I can only bow to his wondrous vocabulary, and accept the truth of the prayer, and do all I personally can to prod that movement ever forwards and onwards, It is I firmly believe one of the "almost" lost treasures which is desperately needed in the church of today, my own fellowship included, I accept many do pray faithfully in their own "Closets" but not as many as should, oh that the Church might recapture the sheer joy in communal prayer guided by His Spirit, I'm convinced much of the problems and predjudices would be shattered if we did just as he told us " do not neglect the coming together as some do" we dismiss this warning to our peril, every blessing Pt

Sunday 12th Sept 2010
A good day but very very busy, we witnessed at the "Eastfield Fete" and allthough there was not to many people around we did what we could and it was well worthwhile, our puppet show went down (as usual) very well and young and not so young enjoyed it all, this is a great effort by our young team and I believe that it will not only bless them but many others in the future. theweather held and though extremely windy, was quite warm, after the exertions of the early morning and preperations for todays craft table, which I managed to prepare ready for the day I retired home around four oclock absolutely shattered, so an early night was the order of the day and I slept like a baby and allthough suffering from a heavy cold was suitably refreshed and am ready for the day ahead, seize the day! PtP

Tuesday, 7 September 2010

We had a wonderfully free evening last night at Hackleton, good fellowship, good food, good fun, and despite the atrocious weather we had to face aftert the evening closed all went well, the roadside water we went through on our way home was so deep in places that one could feel it snatching the driving wheel from ones hands. being just the one side of the car, my nearside hubs must be very very clean after that so at least it does some good, but not something i appreciate driving in the dark with, we are holding a new "Prayer Together" at our church today at Midday, we have many who like myself are free in the daytime, being "Retired" at least from most worldly labours so feel this may be a good alternative to run alongside our Early morning prayer time every saturday morning at 6-30, when many of the workers may enjoy a wee lay in after their weeks labours, God bless them, just finished clearing up outside our bungalows after the wind which at this time of year brings down the pine needles from the giant trees that surround our little close, and boy do they make a mess, never mind keeps me happy and busy as my neighbours sadly are passed doing such chores, so part of my little !"MINISTRY OF LOVE". Praise God, I see The Aussies are now the latest country to be suffering from Flooding, the world does seem to be a crazier place than normal at this time methinks, have a great day to all despite it??. PtP

Monday Sept 6th 2010
A really busy but great week end which culminated in the wonderful service yesterday when we witnessed the dedication of our new Pastor and also rededicated ourselves to God in support for and to him as our leader for the future, a really powerful day of rejoicing and freedom in Christ for all, our building was packed to the rafters and throbbing with life, such a priviledge to be part of and to be part of the future together for His Glory, A very busy day today, a little shop early on, lunch to get then take Eileen to the doctors at 2-30pm home for a rest and then out tonight for a rather special meeting of "Churches Together" at Hackleton, for a BBQ, and then a praise and prayer meeting to follow, We have had many comings together over the years with the fellowship there and will be good to meet our friends again it is a Church with a past of many outpourings of His grace, and much has been acomplished there to His glory, so a busy schedule today and looking at my diary no let up all this week. but ready ,willing, and will leave the ableness to Him who is stronger than I, Sheila if you read this we are a wee bit concerned as we have not heard from you for a few days and are still wondering how your visit to the docs went trust you are all OK, all our love to you both, PtP

Saturday August 4th 2010
Just returned from saturday early prayer's full of jubilation and anticipation after a great time together with my brethren, this week end we shall be celebrating the dedication of our new? Pastor
when he will officially take up the reins of office as our leader, guide and prophet, while remembering each and every one of us I trust will also be re-dedicating ourselves "Together" as one in support and encouragement for him and his lovely wife and three children, a great day is envisaged, with a great number of us who will be joining afterwards in a "Royal feast" laid on by outside contractors which will free everyone to be able to share our meal as one happy family, while also recognizing we are but a small part of HIS wider family who are established throughout the whole world, a wondrous thought is that, and to recognise He knows each and every one individually as His VIP's, what a glorious thought Hallelujha ,so thinking on those lines of I go to visit the market and then to spend the day working in the garden, both here and at my fellowship.
"seize the day" PtP.

Friday august 3rd2010
Still receiving great forecasts for the next few days of much sunshine and no rain in sight, so the formula today will be the same as I have followed all this week, Early start , work completed by lunch time, spend remainder of day resting and reading outside enjoying it all, praise God.
This morning even better I have little or nothing to do,due to yesterdays extra work in anticipation, so visit Harlestone heath garden centre for one or two things, first being manure for covering the ground before winter sets in and thus do its work on it, then a visit to my sister at moulton for a time of chatter, lunch out today at "Redhot" as they are running a month of very good value (Cheap) lunch menu's and they are my favourite place, they always offer so many items to choose from, then a decision based on the weather if cooler a visit to sixfield to see "Toy story 3" in 3D, or if it is to warm and sunny to go indoors, then an afternoon outside my home reading my at the moment variety of books I am so enjoying, Not a bad day me thinks!! God bless and enjoy the day to all' Cathie of for their sept break in the Peak district (ah the memories that evokes) not certain if James, Sara and family home today?? need him to lay his hands on my compie,?? so to the day. PtP

Wednesday, 1 September 2010

looks like a vewry warm and sunny day in prospect, so like yesterday a day in the sun after chores and cooking reading my books Eileen's day for her fellowship sewing meet here so I am hoorary tea and coffee boy plus, get them settled then retire outside and just read, I am reading three books at present apart from my spiritual daily reading and study which takes priority in the first two hours of mt day, one is a library book on the life of "Joshephine Cox a writer I both love to read, and admire, all her books are written to cover a period of great industrial change tha completely reversed the direction of this country set in the indusrial north, she informs and write about the many and varied inequalities that existed in those day's and the ordinary people who lived out there lives against the background of injustice and the the people who's lives were captivated by personal greed, and lust for individual power, that denied many of the rights to the workers of their day and of the people who won those rights often at the expense of their own lives, and extremely savage situations that they faced on a daily routine, we enjoy in todays modern world the fruits of those labours, which sadly many ignore and even abuse today, but thats life sadly, I personally am thankfull to them and I believe that the majority of todays people are to, history lesson over have a great day. PtP

Tuesday August 31st 2010.
Here we go again another month has passed into oblivion, Autumn now is truly with us, soon the leaves wil be falling, I can see already they are beginning to turn into their glorious colours that herald in the coming of another winter, Yesterday's blackberrying showed me even though I managed to pick quite a crop, that they are now passing their best, but made a huge pot of apple and berry which will last more than a few breakfasts with my home made yoghurt, as fine a gastrical start to the day as possible.and very enjoyable to. Cathy visits today, with her news of her little family at brixworth.lookforward to seeing her, Sheila we shall be thinking and praying for you as you visit the doctor today. I say this on here as my Gmail is yet again playing up so no out going or incoming mail other than that which comes through Barnowl, my man is on honeymoon in majorca so await their return before he will fix it. a lovely sunny start that fullfills the forcasters prediction of a wee (dare we hope for) what we call an Indian summer, I think we may, so all set to enjoy all we can, I feel due another visit to my dear brethren at "The Jesus people" so hopefully this Sunday evening shall see them once again and share with them a time of great joy, love and praise, they are a very special bunch to me always a great joy to visit them and as such look forward to renewing old aquaintances once more, so life is still so full and overflowing, praise God. cheery by for now PtP

Monday august 30th 2010,
Bank holiday today, the sun was shining early, BUT after yesterdays bright start that later brought us heavy rain showers, not to hopeful for today, great pity for there is much happening around us, it is a day of outdoor events covering every pleasure imaginable, with much thought and planning gone into by so many, we have nothing planned, a quiet day seems in prospect,no home group today being holiday time when many are with or visiting their own families, have to make one short visit downtown and hopefully a few more blackberries to pick for personal cooking,we shall see great day yesterday at fellowship, we shall be getting excited about this coming weeks "Pastoral dedication" and family meal, next Sunday, a great time is envisaged with much to do later in the week, I am going to try and get a visit to the cinema, to see the 3D, version of the "Toy Story three"at sixfields, I love theses films really good entertainment, and so well made, PtP

Friday August 27th 2010.
At last the rain has ceased, well for the moment anyway, but at least the weather kept me indoors, so i trust I put it to good use. cleared up on the jam making for the time being, I shall be doing more, sometime soon, but have turned my attention to "Chutney's"etc, I have three jars I did recently "Apple celery and sultana. which taste quite good, so now will try and make a few more jars of other types, the library book is a wealth of goodness, one of which caught my eye. "beetroot and blackberry"both in abundance at this time,Eileen did some beetroot and apple, which our Cathy tried and said it was marvelous. so of we go, but not today as it is the day for our AUTUMN seniors luncheon at Church, so not a lot will get done today, our team of young cooks have prepared a veritable feast for us,Of that I am sure, it gets better all the time, they are a great bunch of kids, with two or three adults to guide them, we get a good time of fun with a quiz or something similar to keep us occupied, plus the usual chit chat which we as elders always have an abundance of, it goes wiyh the territory, praise the Lord for all His goodness, PTP.
Thursday August 26th 2010
WET, WET,WETTER, whow When will it stop,a day in today seems to be the call, so can really sort out my jam making, have reached the stage when i believe I have enough for the moment, but I am when the weather permits me to going to have a go at crab apple jelly, I recall our neighbour a young lassie in the early days when we lived in Ash rise made some and kindly gave us some it was delicous, Close by brixworth their is on the main harborough rd, the remainsof an old orchard, which I have often stopped and picked some very good apples, in days gone by, they would I believe go towards making a very nice "superior type"of the recipe so till then my thoughts are turning towards making more chutney we both made some earlier this with good results,,
so am studying my library book(I have borrowed it since May time) and am renewing it today, my librarian says unless someone else request it then one can renew as many times as one likes,
Take advantage of reading it and the weather, lets make chutney, loved a programme we watched on BBC tv last night called "The great British waste menu" remarkable but sad to realise just how much food is wasted here in Britain just because so much is considered that, it just is not good looking enough, to big, or to small to meet the rigid demands of so many of the major supermarket chains, big business etc, tragic in a world were so many are dieing through lack, what a srange world WE make sometimes very illuminating, the banquet was given to an invited audience of somewhere around two hundred or so, with food that was all taken from supermarket refuse, restaurants.aand even ordinary homes, it was very sad but with much to think on particuarly in these days of recession, where all are looking to cut costs, much food (No pun intended) for thought very very interesting indeed, one of tv's better proggies, tatty bye for now PtP.

Snday 22nd AUGUST 2010
Today looks like the last of the dry ones for a wee while, so we must make the best of it while we can, Blackberry time is on us I have been ot twice and picked around ten pounds of them, already made ten pots of jam, some of the next will be diabetic jam for yours truly i love them, so will use my diabetic sugar, it works AS I have tried it successfully before, whether it is truly diabetic I cannot be sure but I am trusting cant just give up everything, Plums to are in at the moment bought some beautiful "Victorias" from Smiths garden centre, on the way home, plus some green gage to, so will be picking up more on Monday .we sat yesterday afternoon after I came home from blackberryingand ate around two pounds fresh they were gorgeous, yum yum, must get more fo more jam, well done you Aussies looks like you are saddled with a new government like ours, (Sorry mates), I didnt realise your vote thought is compulsary, not to sure about whether thats good or bad,but at least you cant blame any one else might be good idea all round.

I have been working on one myself tonight" I take a load of pictures at our Holiday club and then put a collage together for the rest of our fellowship to see what has taken place, what has been happening, just finished ready to take in tomorrow morning, dont forget to vote SIS hope you get a better govt than we did. its for you to decide so get out and do it tatty bye lopves ya both. Thursday August 19th 2010.
Final day for "the holiday club"today, which will be our dressing up day in line with our this years theme, "movie world" a real fun day full of surprises for all involved, I can honestly say I believe this years has been the best I can recall, a full compliment of children, and we have not lost one to date, very well organised as usual by our wonderfull youth leader, and well supported by the whole Church, I have taken a considerable number of photo's, from which I make a collage for the whole Church to see on Sunday,we praise God for all the seeds sown and look to Him for their growth and
their well being in His good way and time, this has, as allways, been a good work by all involved, unto Him be praise for it all, we as leaders will be feeling a wee bit tired, but very happy and satisfied,so thats it for this year, roll on the next,!!?? PtP

Tuesday, 17 August 2010

Tuesday August 17th 2010.
Holiday club starts today, whow another year has slidden away, only three days, this time the theme is "The film world", the sanctuary looked like a new place when we finished last night, some of the young ones have obviously spent many hours making giant camaras, huge oscar figures, and all the glitter that goes with the industry of the big screen, it looked good, so off we go with a full intake from around the area plus many of our own youngsters, with a very full programe lined up great excitement in the air, probably be shattered by four o clock time when we send them home to their mums and dads, all great fun but with an aim in mind, we commit all to him who has commited everything to us. PtP

Saturday !4th August 2010
Back to work after a very peaceful and invigourating rest at our second home of Pakefield, the weather was reasonable wet and dry, but we cant do anything about that so "on with the mottley"
as the saying goes,? (whatever is a mottley???) goodness knows, we enjoyed ourselves Eileen didn't gooutside a lot but busied herself wilth her knitting, sewing and reading, which we both did quite a lot. I have quite a number of books some boughtat faith camp that I am pushing on with, one a very beautiful book with superb illustrations and writings of some of our great hymnalists of the past which is very rewarding and stimulating, the other a new picturesqe new edition on the Welsh revivals, with partiticular reference to the great 1904 revival, amazing. this has always held my great interest and I love to look into the situations that both existed and were changed because of theat great intrusion of Gods close involvement at that time, and the revel;ance towards todays Church in particulkar and the nation generally, we have lost so much by the "churchiness" of recent decades and NEED to look again at His word afresh and with renewed urgency and these books help us do just that, providing we read prayerfully and expecxtantly. We had a bonus this time in that unbeknown to us we had accidently bookes the week of Lowestofts famous Air show, and it was free and magnificent, allthough on the Thursday Ihad walked the mile or so along the beach to lowestoft and was really being thrilled by it all when we had a cloudburst, Thunder lightening and Hail that for a few moments turned the beach white, it was amazing and fun, to despite the wetting of us all, a great sight to behold, and as i say a real bonus, culminating in a absolutely tremendous finalle by the Red rrows incredidible sight with such a closeness it was almost frightening the raw power of those machines is awesome. back to the mold now keep on keeping on PtP

Arrived home around Twelve thirty after a glorious time at "Faith camp" my last visit this year, tired but greatly elated in mind ,body and spirit, there is something very special about gathering with those who feel the same as oneself, just to praise ,worship and pray together, there were probably around four thousand or so this year and I have a few momento's as reminders, so now back dowm to the general way of things till we all meet again, there is a large conferance in November at Horsham the centre of "Kingdom Faith church, that i am very interested in so maybe shall go there in due course, am booking up for Northampton ameteur operactic companies, Autumn rendering of one of my favourites "Jesus Christ Superstar" to be shown in late Autumn at "the Cripps centre" so that to I shall look forwardto immensely, Shop and visit my siter later today so off we go PtP

Well thats another month that has flown by, soon be Christmas, cant be far off as my sis in OZ has already informed us al only so many ?? get ups remaining, she is always first of the mark to remind us, had a nice afternoon cum evening yesterday, went to see the Bixworth select eleven play Th e Leashing international eleven, at Their new ground just this side of the village, very nice to, the leashing eleven included some really greats from the past, and made for an interesting game, that sadly was eventually rained of with the Brixwort team in a strong position to win, but very enjoyable, and leisurely entertaing match much fund raising for Northampton general babies unit was raised by "The three miracles"charity, a fine story in itself, well done to all, and bad luck to the village lads who I feel would have won and thus I believe been the first team to beat their illustrious competitors this season , ah well. busy day today, our Pastors final service of thanksgiving, followed by a "Tea at the Ritz" style farewell, so got to get with it now preparing etc for an expected large gathering at 2_00 pm no rest for the !!!!!!! they say so here goes. Struggling with my diabetis, just found out that I have been adding to much peach tea, to my lemon , and did not realise that it was high in sugar, ah well back to the drawing board, shall have to go back to the good old "cuppa" idont drink tomuch of it so looks as if I shallhave to revert to that I gave up sugar in that many many years ago for a bet with Cathie who challenged me that I couldnt do it, that was before I was diagnosed wit "Sugar", so that may well be best in the future, pity because i have vdevelopeped a yen for the lemon peach mix, stilol could be worse, weather a bit dull forb the last bfew days but am cooking a nice roast leg of lamb both our favourites for tea-time meal with saute potatoes and mixed green veg, God bless PtP

Tueday july13th 2010
It seems that My "Iffy" compie is now behaving itself, so can for the time being at least continue
life once again, had a disapointing T/top at Holy Troinity on the Sat, not many people seemed to want to come out on what was the hottest day thus far, very humid conditions, but we press on looking at new ideas and venues, the weather after the W/ends heat as now decidedly cooled, with a little,(and i do mean just that) rain yesterday, not enough to lay the dust really in kingsthorpe at least but some coming we are told?? by our impeccable weather men, so we are waiting in hope,
thankfully the football has GONE, it was getting even for me a bit to much every night. and it wasn't a very exciting (football wise) event for me any way, i was pleased for the African peoples I thought in every respect they were the stars of it all well done Africa, i suppose if we had gone further in the competition it would have been a little more involveing? but we now have to make many changes, and i am not sure they will, but will be interesting to watch this space,??,
As a fellowship we are now mightily watching Africa, as a team of eleven from our midst are visiting the "compassion"village in Uganda,to see at first hand the children they and we are sponsoring to help them achieve better education and we trust better lives as well, so we are praying, thinking of them all for the next ten days of their visitation, we support individually 48 children through our fellowship, and growing, very exciting days, praise be to God,
Quick message to our littlr sis in OZ a package on its way with your favourite sweeties, enjoy them love to all PtP

Thursday July8th 2010
Good day at the cricket yesterday, and the county won ,so good result there, most enjoyable day a lot of chatter but some good stuff in there as well, weather dry but cloudy but a perfect day for playing, the feild looks a bit Aussified, scorched brown through lack of rain, I shall try to go occasionally, it is a good way to combine pleasure and rest, I have a sale at Trinity CVhurch rooms on Saturday so must use tomorrow to prepare, the nurse was pleased with Eileens ankles, have to go tomorrow but hopefully next week we should see an easing of visits. have a good day PtP

Wednesday, 7 July 2010

Hurrah back in business, thanks to my clever grandson in law, he's a star, I have missed it while it was down?, but as I was exceptionally busy, Iwas able to catch up without the interference of the "Compie", but wouldn't like to be without it for to long. today am of to watch the county play cricket at the county ground, (first time for years) although I have been promising my0self to go for ages, BUT?? you know everything gets in the way, so today is special for two reasons one just going, the other I am going with our new Pastor (well almost) we have been trying to get this for some time but Pastors lives are so busy, but He is on a months break before he totally takes charge of us all, some thought that??!!. some responsibility but also I trust a privilege to.
so a good day to spend leisurely, and without spoiling the cricket, (thats almost sacrosanct) a chance to look ahead for the future at "Broadmead"without any one else trying to gain his attention, as he sees it, although we as a fellowship, know his thoughts and concur together with him on them, but will be nice to share a few moments just to chat, A project I truly love, "talking" I mean, so although we seem to have chosen a not so hot day, weatherwise, we are both anticipating a good rest and relax, and who knows the Sun may come, but the "SON" company we will have. amen PtP

Wednesday, 30 June 2010

Wednesday june 30th 2010,
well another month gone ,they are really flying by so miuch to do and time seems so much shorter every day, but better than being bored ,another hot day in line we are told so out with the chair and garden table, have a good book to finish and pass on, light cooking at the moment easier to nibble something easy rather than a full meal, plenty of fresh fruit and ice cream is theorder of the day, lots of odd jobs to get in as the day progresses so off we jolly well go PtP.

Monday, 28 June 2010

so thats it then we are out of the world cup, good job to some may say, we did not perform as we can right from the warm up games and then through the competition itself, we were very poor to say the least, why, well that needs alot of thought and meditation, by the ones who both play and run the team, do we need a new manager, I think not ,but the management team may well sac k him we shall see, he is the best around his record speaks for itself, but I suspect that the mangagement (Who in my belief are the real problem,) may get rid of him, an english manager would be ideal but only one two spring to mind, we shall see, never mind we can now get on with life While the rubbishy football effort was going on we Magnificently won a cricket one dayinternational series against our old foe the AUSSIES, now that is worth shouting out loud sorry birdie, tatty bye all PtP

Sunday 27th June 2010.
Up early so I could pop round to see if our youngsters were awake and kicking after there night under (whatever they could find) very impressed by their plastic and cardboard homes well done all. they all were a little weary eyed but ship shape and bristol as the saying goes, gave them a bit tlc and encouraged them ,thats what many of british youth is like not the types often shown in the press, great lads and lassies, I am proud of them but dont tell them, footie and cricket plus motor racing on today what a day ahead and we shall be praising the lord and with two young lassies for baptism later this evening ( a nice cool pool for them ready and waiting) plus a dedication this morning, a very full day indeed, Praise be to HIM hallelujha PtP

Saturday june26th,2010.
Fabulous day at mallory park yeterday, extremely hot weather with little or no shade there these days, But brilliant spectacle of Motor bike racing at its very best, It has been a few years since last visited there, but it was a good feeling to roam around the riders mechanics and machinery, this as always been a friendly circuit, aqnd thank goodness that as not changed, much improvements surround one and sadly prices like everything else match those imp[rovements they have to be paid,. but still one of the better values the sporting arena offers and by far the most aproachable helpfull and friendly. ITS GOT THE LOT. faster and more skillfull every year, it truly amazes me, thankfully only one very slight spill, nogreat injuries always good, this is a very dangerous sprt to take part in,but the camaradery between riders is fantastic, but no quarter given and none asked on the track, wonderful stuff great day out no poroblems traffic wise or other. off now for our early morning prayers at fellowship, the LORD IS GOOD. AMEN PtP.

Sunday20th june,2010
Had a wonderful day yesterday, following in the footsteps of CHS, left prayer meeting at fellowship 7-30 am heading for Kelvedon his birthplace, then on to then to Stambourne where he lived with His grandparents who were pastoring the free church there, as times were very hard for his parents who were finding things difficult to survive as things were in those days,a new building stands there these days but the manse next door was the same, found his grandparents graves in the plot next door, then on to Colchester were his parents now pastoring a new fellowship had moved to and things though still hard were improved so CHS returned to live with them now aged seven, here I found the nearby Baptist church (now an Evangelical Church), were he was so wonderfully saved, then after much schoolingat Newmarket at the age of fifteen he felt the need to be baptised, and at that time he could only find in the Baptist Church at Isleham nearby a free Church who practiced full adult Baptism and in the river ferry crossing close by he was gloriously(His words) changed for ever, I found this profoundly emotional and very moving as I looked down on the river at the very spot, and my thoughts went to OUR LORD himself as He was Baptised in the river Jordan, on to where he CHS,preached his first ever sermon, another very moving and profound moment as I gazed at the old cottage where the Free church people met in those days, then finally to his own first fellowship at Waterbeach were he took on his first calling, again a newer building than the one he moved into, as I knew, but there were two foundation stones one at each corner the first by the leading elder and tbe other by the man himself, I could only just gaze in awe and wonder as my first part of this project came to its conclusion, finally arrived home rather weary but exalted at just after ten pm.after what had been for me a wonderful experience, on the way home I to had one of those personal moments when I KNEW GOD was speaking to me, an awesome and wondrous feeling that took me home "On the wings of Eagles) to borrow one of the Apostle Pauls sayings, from the letter to the Ephesian people. a most incredibly memorable day, now for part 2 that I trust to make in a few weeks time, this will be to follow his call to move to the great metropolis LONDON, where he was to know such great blessing that up till then and probably now never ever will be known again (But thats Gods work) my admiration for the man is still growing, but my love for his (And my) GOD grows even moreso as the kids say CANT WAIT, PtP

Friday, 18 June 2010

Saturday 19th 2010,
Up with the larks this morning, so on beof to join the brethren for sat morning prayer, then of to travel down to Colchester, and begin my search ,to follow in the footsteps of "Charles haddon Spurgeon" The prince of preachers, (Part one) shall be calling in to see his birthplace and the little chapel where he was converted in Colchester, then to his grandparents with whom he spent his early youth, then on to Newmarket where he was educated, finally his first pastorship, then a look around the fenlands where he spent his early days as a Baptist pastor,, (Part two) another Saturday following him to London where his main teaching and preaching life was really to blossom forth, lookiing forward to seeing the places he lived in and gave his Whole life to our God, very dissapointing show by the lads last night ,no drive, no passion, no good, simple as that, most of the European teams seem to have stopped playing positively, they must change the style or go the way of others, they have the men, pick them for goodness sake, or it will be to late, oh this following the flag is fraught with frustration, but I am still hoping next wednesday will be make or break, come on the lads lets be having yer!! you CAN do it. PtP

Friday 18th june 2010.
Yeserday went very well, was able to repair the broken church notice board so it should giv e yet many more years cervice, then went to the organ recital at "All Saints" which was exquisitely performed by an American composer and player, the theme of this years perfomances is entitled"Queen of instruments"a title I willgladly aceede to, closely followed by the violin as my other favourite musical instrument. shall make efforts to go to as many recitals as possible, the Seafood restaurant was good, but i felt slightly overpriced so not on my favourite list of feeding troughs? Again I thought the town looked very good as I perused the centre, and once more set me wondering what makes the whingers moan and groan, but there I suppose every town has its share of people with their often imagined disgruntled reasons, so just have to take them on and try and peruade them of their ignorant and foolish ideas are without foundation, no where is perfect, but our town in my estimation is up there amongst the best. a bit of cooking today, and I trust the sun which at moment of writing is hiding itself will come out? and then spend the afternoon outside planning my new project which I trust will commence tomorrow, God willing. tatty bye PtP

Thursday 17th june 2010
Received a panic call from our church secretary yesterday, she had a slight accident with one of our main interior church events boards, (It hd collapsed,) so went to have alook as both boards are needed for a special meeting and seminar,to be held on saturday, so panic, and the call, went to see, and it can be repaired reasonably cheaply,so that is todays first job, then water and hoe my little church gardens, then all being well intend to go to the "All Saints" organ recital at lunch time 13-10pm, then have a look at the new seafood resaurant that should have opened in St Giles st on Monday. but havn't seen any thing in the Chron about it. but will see Tatty bye PtP

Tuesday June15th 2010
Have decided against going to Silverstone this W/E as there is a more favourable meeting (to me) next W/end at Mallory Park near to Leicester, so will g0 there instead, the prices are more in line with what i believe is right, and my favourite (Valentino Rossi) who was to ride at Silverstone has broken is leg in practicing the W/E before, silly man so that concluded my choice, I have now decided Weather permitting, and it looks good at moment, I am aiming to start my "following in the trail of Charles Haddon Spurgeon's life", I shall start at the beginning (the best place) at his birthplace in Kelvedon a small hamlet< probably bigger now, close to Colchester, then follow his conversion in a small methodist chapel in Colchester, (still there Today) and then on to his first beginnings around the Fenlands, So I am looking forward to that immensely. Aim to spend the day looking at all I can get in , Bread baking today, and it looks good,(And have just tasted ) it is good, dinner is on the cooker, then on to pick up Cathy this afternoon for her weekly visit "Have a good un everyone" PtP

Sunday June 13th 2010
A slightly disapointing start to our world cup campaign, But there we go no change there, they do like to make one suffer, but we shall improve I hope? we had quite a good crowd at the Church for the match which we all enjoyed, lots of fun and food, we had a reasonable table top sale in aid of our christian School "Samuels" not sure how much was raised, but I personally sold afew things to boost my effort for the Church bulding fund by another forty pounds so cant grumble asa the crowd wasn't very large we must advertise these events better methinks, a rest day today after a rather hectic last few days, Not such a busy week ahead so have decided Thursday to go to the "Organ recital" that are currently running at All Saints church on Thursdays to listen for an hour of stirring music, this carries through to near the end of July so shall try to attend one or two as they are starring some of the most notable organists that we have in this country, this weeks is our very own from Peterborough Cathedral I believe, then shall have a look with a view to eat at the new Seafood retaurant opening on mondayin St Giles Street. then come next W?E Silverstone I'm hoping to catch one of thge practice days Motor cyckes that is so a nice gentle week I Hope tatty bye for now PtP

Wednesday,June 9th 2010
A busy day today, so off to an early start, I have a few hundred invitations to deliver around our Church building area, for the big match on Saturday, we give the surounding neighbours the opportunity to see the game on our large screen, in the company of like minded supporters, letting them see we also do enjoy many things of life that they sometimes believe we do not. but in a slightly different way that does not need added bevies that hinder, but we enjoy things even more so than those who feel they need those additive ingredients, that carry a vile sting in the tail. last time 2006 we witnessed many come in to enjoy the footie who then left us with a different view of what makes us tick,, then later tonight a very important Members meeting to decide on the very important issues we need to resolve, we shall not reach a final decision tonight, but we shall decide the date of that extraordinary meeting that is required to make it, so we need to meet tonight in a total unity of love, understanding and sensetivity for each other. lead us Lordinto your perfect will.
Tuesday june 8th 2010
Verdict from the docs, quite good, praise the lord, passed on most things with good reports, but slight problem with my Diabetis, but rathert than lift my medication. was told (beause I admitted that I had been naughty) in as much that I had slipped a wee bit and succumbed into not being as diciplined as I should have been "Temptation thou art ------ FOOD" have resolved to tighten up on those little faults, so the doc said lets give it a go, and come for another check on that one point(Diabetis)in around three months and we shall see if I can do it without the need for more medication, so here we go "get thee behind me -----!! " looks like the weather has changed back to more British normal, Wet and cool, never mind saves watering, every cloud has a silver lining, IF you look hard enough,, enjoyable evening yesterday at "Queens grove" praise with a difference, and by golly it DOES make one feel better in every aspect, Hallelujha.

Saturday June %th 2010
Before heading of for today's early prayer, I have been rereading the letter to the Jewish people, whose authorship is not clear, commonly called the book of Hebrews ,but what a message it is.
One that has benefitted every generation, irrespective of their nationality, and is rightly known as the letter of FAITH, in words written many centuries ago, it could be said to describe our day almost perfectly, with all its problems and concerns, with persistant worry over where are we going, this letter shines like a beacon of blinding light, we hav recorded for us the names of great men and women of their day. who survived the darkest hours any one could face. and yet triumphed, because of their faith, and my thoughts turned to the great men and women we have been privileged to know in this present day, and there are so many, we to can join that glorious band,by believing, that light is stronger than the darkness, hope is greater tha despair, love always has and always will carry us through every possible tragedy this day and age can throw at us, for love still ,and despite the outlook always will be the guiding light to all who seek it, for love HAS, conquered all before it . Praise be to its author, GOD.

I cant believe how quickly the tiume has flown this week what do they say it goes by so quickly when you are enjoying yourself, how true, here we are now almost into the W,E. but can look back and see much attempted and achieved, very satisfying, with much more to come, I read this week
"Has GOD finished using you,? are you still alive?!! yes, then the answer is no, he hasn't finished with you yet. how true, how wonferful is this "abundant life" to live to the full, whow it truly is great. come on then lad get on with it. here we go then tatty bye 4 now take care PtP

Here we are at the start of a very hot spell of weather forecast, when the temp should reach 23-25
so ready to enjoy it, today Eileens craft group meet, and i have a proposition to lay before them over future days to sell our goods etc and propose a special one day for late November that will concentrate solely on "Christmas" with gifts etc to support this, of to the doc's today, more blood tests, musn't grumble, earlier this morning spent reading and praying for countries who have no such facillities and face terrible hardships whenever illness or disease strikes, we are more than fortunate, here and I strongly believe should do more than we do to help yhose people, irrespective of our own individual beliefs or none as the case may well be, often a short note to ones MP, DOES produce help to promote this. nudge nudge!!?? Bye for now PtP

A very blessed day yesterday, after our morning service we had our first "craft stall" and raised £100 -oop plus, so very pleased for the team, good work all round, then a grand afternoon at my friend Nigel's for a superb BBQ, which was his usual immaculate best, his son and a few of his scout pals, did stirling work on the BBQ itself cooking in true scout style, and added to the remainder was superb, which was appreciated by all who attended, A quiet day today planned ,but we will see as it goes. cheery bye one and all. Saturday, 29 May 2010

Saturday 29th may 2010
A rather wet day but needed for the garden, enjoyed the "Fusion" that is the restaurant that is on the old St Edmunds site, a bit more sophisicated than "Redhot" with a sufficient menu A mix of british, chinese, italian plus, and a very well spaced out and imaculate eating area, one couldn't fault the menu, but I prefer "Redhot"but who knows I may go there again and I could certainly recomend it to anyone, with the knowledge that they would not be dissapointed. have set up in our church for tomorrows sale, was hard work but very satisfying, now wait and see, allthough I shall not be dissapointed, whatever happens, I have more ideas for the future. soon be the footie, put my flag up outside our home, and on the car today (only a fortnight away) roll on, and away the lads. I wonder how the "Aussies" feel as they are in with he same chance as us, what say you SIS, by the way your man at the F1 grand prix's is going great guns at this time leading the rest, good on yer mate, but come on the brits!!let's be having yer. PtP

Friday may 28th 2010.
Sunny start to the day but clouds soon appeared with the suggestion of rain at some point,so sayeth the experts? A day of work for me today, I am trying particuarly through the summer time to leave Fridays as just that,a rest day. So when I'm ready of to one of my favourite places, Brixworth recycling unit, the new name for what was the rubbish tip, sounds much better?! to take my house recycling stuff, and have a look around there "Shop" very soon it will indeed be a proper shop, quite close by which then will allow them to resell any thing even electrical goods that have been disposed of, then have a look at the greengrocers in the village, which has become a very good place to shop for ones green grocery, we are very blessed with more than a few, quite close by that are top quality, then of to town for a general look about, mainly in the centre, but then intend to sample the lunch offered at the old "St, Edmunds house"where I am told is now a very good lunch available, buffet style, which I prefer, at quite a reasonable price, recommended by a good friend of mine, so an interestingly restful day ahead, there is a new sport shop opening today in the drapery, where the old one was, so might find myself a new "Spurs" shirt if the price is right!! tatty bye PtP.

Thursday, 27 May 2010

Thursday,May 27th 2010
The visit to the doctor passed of OK ,I have to increase my medication for my thyroud, and keep a bit stricter on the sugars etc as my diabetis was a little higher, my fault I have slipped a bit on that over the last few weeks, with a few sweetie things, ah well, painted my garden seat and pottered a bit after surgery, weather not to bad, a wee bit more sun would not go amiss, We have posted up our invitations on the church fence, for our showing of the world cup games due to start June 12th
on our larger screens, for all to participate in, cheery bye PtP.

Tuesday, 25 May 2010

Wed,May 26th 2010.
Finished my breadmaking course yesterday, Irish soda, and mini muffins, shall miss the small group they were nice lassies, and will miss this weeks "Spices" as the doc wants to have a word with me on Thursday, not to happy with my thyroid problem he says after last weeks tests. so have to see him instead, we shall see ,what we shall see? my first attempt at Fudge, was not a total success, I religously followed the recipe, but it was a wee bit to wettish, and although the taste was divine, it didn't set quite right, but I have another recipe and hope to give it a go later today after my church gardening and small shop, we are ready to have a go at the jam also today or at least Eileen is?, Dried apricot, we are getting our bits and pieces ready for Sunday's sale etc all looks good, with new ideas coming all the while, but thats for later ones? cooler today, possible shower later but we shall see Cheery bye for now PtP.

Monday, 24 May 2010

Tuesday 25th may 2010.
Much cooler last night and this morning, we were struggling with those few really hot days, we are not used to heat like that, quieter day today planned, last one of my bread maker classes, we were told that a surprise cook for this, sop we will see.? up toscratch with my gardens, apart from watering, and weeding etc, just watch them grow. start preparing for my first table top at church this Sunday, so still a lot of sorting out to do but well on top of it, my pansies,(which this year were my main display on my front) are about finishing, so will look possibly toda for the summer selection, I have a discount of £10-00,from my membership on sales to date, so a nice start towards that. watched the England game last night ,not to impressed, but they won, they must improve on that showing to do well at the World cup, now looming very close, its good to see people
showing "The flag" as it were, from homes cars and shops to, the fever is on the move hurrah!! come on the lads you can do it, PtP

A wonderful day at Abington park, for "the Northampton Churches TOGETHER," to celebrate Pentecost Sunday, the day started well (allthough I was not there to hear it sadly) as I couldn't get there untill aprox 3-00pm, by the opening service led by "Graham Kendrick and his music" and then continued throughout the day with many local Christians who sang, played, prayed and danced away under a blazing sun that had most of us seeking the shade, fortunately the park is very blessed with a fine array of trees, which are at their very best right now displaying their beauty as only Abington park can, needles to say I am an AP lover, and regard it as "The jewel in the crown" of our really wonderful green parks, and fortunately at their very leafiest and that supplied our every need, a great day when we again proved we can "Get together" and ENJOY ourselves. I met many dear friends that I haven' seen for it seems ages, and shared many memorable times from the past, as well as hopes for the future, Back to the present today, but the sun (son) is still shining and very warm, so quite a lot to do Watering being a must at this time, AH well "little rest for the wicked, " not a lot for the Righteous either, say the world, oh if they only Knew? what rest is ours. cheery bye

We are the champions, we are the champions!! CHAMPIONS OF THE CRICKET WORLD. well at least at 20/20.version, but it really was some win, we slaughtered them, sorry sis but you will have to bow the knee to the old country, she still has a few teeth left when the chips are down. AND YOU MUST ADMIT ON THE DAY WE WERE THE BEST. Oh if only we could fight like that always, but there you go I'm happy with the result today and that will carry me on for a while at least. am extremely happy with the new laptop, really a delight to use, I shall be attempting to add a few phot'os this week sometime, I have put them in the lapotop with James help. so ready for a trial run this week, fingers crossed, have a good day, your day will come again, but not to soon I hope, loves ya, keep on keeping on, soon be the world cup. footie wise, but I know you are not really into that, we shall need all the good fortune going,to emulate our cricketing brothers, but we live in hope. its only a game isn't it???. tatty bye PtP.

Sunday May 16th 2010
Today is the final of the World cup 20/20 cricket in the West Indies, between England and the old enemy the OZZ's, should be a great match ,both team's are on top of there form, so watch out sis we are after you, no quarter asked or given, winner takes all, Fine start to the day but looks a wee bit like rain on the horizon. missed the Cup final yesterday, I bought myself a new compie table which was advertised as a dressing table, but is superb for the compie, right height to work on and fitted the space just perfect. one of those Easy to assemble jobs, that never are?, made more difficult as the old (they really are) limbs dont work so easily these days, and to put these things together is up and down all the time, and the assembly plan's I believe are written by a masochist I'm sure, they really do try ones patience, but looks and feels good cheery by 4 now PtP

Friday May 14th 2010
After a few days rest here we go again, My dear old faithfull friend (the compie) died, but has now been resurected in a new form, better, quicker, and more exciting than before, Hurrah,
While not posting, never the less I have been very very busy, and while i cant post all that has gone on, I do give you what was my highlight,of that "lost" ten days or so. On Wednesday the 12 th I was invited to travel up to London to spend the day with my "New Pastor" at his college, Spurgeons"near Croydon.or rather spend the day enjoying the miracle that was Charles Haddon Spurgeon, one upon whom was lain the Epitaph, "The prince of preachers" I spent the day in two halves with an hour or so in the morning looking over the grounda and buildings etc, before being led to what for me was the room containing "The Holy Grail" a metaphore I use advisedly, the room where now rest many of the manuscripts, photos, and all the memorobillia that has been painstakingly collected since his death over a century ago, then spending lunch with all the other students there at this time, and then once again resuming my interest in "THE room" I cannot find words that even begin to say what that day meant to me, I do Honour the mans name, but as he himself would have wished I enjoyed the GOD who did all this through Him even more so, a spiritual GIANT, the likes in all probabillity we may never see again, one whose greatness is in my opinion absolutely unique, it was aday that i was very privileged to enjoy, as the college is not open to the general public as such, but a day I shall treasure for the remainder of my earthly toil, and one that has affected much more than at this moment I can really understand, something for future meditation, for I not only met C.H.S. in that room but also my GOD, in a very real and positive way, that perhaps only the true believer, can begin to understand, all together a most memorable day in my life thus far,and indeed the trustee responsible for the memoribillia etc, gave me a wonderfull invitation that if i so desired or if time permitted that I could return, even after my NEW PASTOR had left that I could reach him through my pastor and he would be happy to allow me a return at my leisure. Whow I am deeply humbled. and who knows what the future holds, this has been for me a magnificent enjoying, gratifying, and enlightening, experience that has considerably helped my FAITH, beyond my wildest dreams. truly my GOD is an "IMPOSSIBLE GOD" hallelujha, from an elated PtP.

Happy day, happy day, Tottenham are on their way, whow what a result, we beat the city on their own patch to clinch fourth spot that takes us into Europeon football next season at the highest level. with a good squad of players, and full of confidence, "Harry boy" as done the job, and I feel we deserve it, whow- whow, and the Spurs go marching on. am overjoyed, well done the lillywhites.
Now to win the other battle, feel the result may be a hung parliament, personally I would like that despite the experts opinions, perhaps at last All politicians may get the message, get your acts together and work together for the good of the country as a whole, not your individual parties and yourselves.
After last nights result why not "Harry boy" for PM , could do worse!!??. PtP.

WED, MAY 5th 2010,
My sisters 81st birthday today, so I shall be visiting her suitably laden with greetings and flowers,to mark the day, my earthly blood family, seem to be blessed with longevity, so have much to be thankful for, many days appear to be our heritage, for which I thank my GOD, I have recently been challenged by those wonderful immortalised words, that were indelibly burnt on my memory in the film, "Dead poets society" - SEIZE THE DAY-and I was reminded of them during this weeks home group by my dear friend Victor, they have become for me a constant challenge to use wisely and well, every moment of my life, for they will never be repeated, I love the words we often sing in our fellowship," Every moment I'm awake, every breath that I take, I surrender" To my Lord. We all have so many days to live, how many, only GOD knows , how we use them is our responsibility, and privilege, help me use them well, Dear lord, is my daily prayer. to do all I can in love, and encouragement,to all I meet as I tread this pathway I have freely chosen to pursue, that I may in serving others serve you, my greatest friend and SAVIOUR, to please you in every all my thoughts, deeds and actions, with all my strength ,might and power, that in some small measure I may reflect YOU in every aspect of my life, PtP

Tuesday MAY 4TH 2010.
Chilly day and night, but no frost, just to remind us that our weather is so unpredictable and constantly changing. but spring IS in the air, (JUST A LITTLE COOLER), I sometimes wish our weather could be wall to wall sunshine each day, and a little light refreshing rain each night, now that would be perfection. but as a dear friend reminded me (as if I need reminding) we do not live in a perfect world, NOT YET!! but I'm working on it? think think. but the dawn today was glorious, the birds singing and all seems well. the forecast not so good, but if the "Son" shines in your heart, then every day is just great, attended the monthly "Prayer and praise Northampton"last night, and we all had a very interesting and I trust fulfilling evening, I certainly was blessed. I had an encounter with a Senior citizen couple from Turvey, (not even in the county) who travelled to be with us for the evening, and enjoyed their company, trusting it was a profitable time for them as it was for me, its good to meet new friends like this. one of lifes bonuses?. Cathy comes today, to see us. so a "nattery" afternoon in prospect. the election looms ever closer, very exciting and an expectancy fills the air, soon be time to vote hurrah, we shall see, what we shall see. Monday May 3rd.2010.
Bank holiday today, with much going on around us, sadly the weather forecast, not so good, now I wonder why that is ??, never mind our little group will be meeting at our home to begin the new study entitled "One month to live" to me falls the privilege to lead us through this month of contemplation. meditation, and we trust much enlightenment. based upon "Christ's Final month on earth as a man, we are encouraged to look at the situation and gain from His accepting as to what was to unfold, and learn from the way He handled those Final days. before He was to return to His Rightful place, a place He had always been in from creation itself, while accepting we as earthly beings can never achieve the perfect example, that HE gave to our world, never the less, can gain much insight, strength, and resolve, from that example, thankful that we were never asked, or ever will be, to emulate it, just to live in it, and share His mighty VICTORY,and triumph, whow, now that is grace, Divine. looking forward to what HE will show us "Together" PtP.

Sunday May 2nd2010
A rather wet night and a wet day in prospect today, but it is needed and welcome for the gardens, thankfully I managed to get the plants in that I wished so it will refresh and help them to establish themselves, after a strange mix up at the auction yesterday, I missed out on my shelving. I had earmarked to use in our new wet room, (not my fault), but there you go easy come easy go they say, but I did get a few nice things for our craft stall, and also a fresh idea came to me as to how I can help "the Church Building fund" in the future and indulge and enjoy my new found pleasure,
Seeking treasures in the auctions and turning them through boot sales into cash for the same, I believe a little "Outside help" formed this in my mind so I shall endevour to do just that, and see how things work out, I can use my "tythe" to purchase then Trust to multilpy it while enjoying the whole new for me, experience, thoughts here, for those who will undsrstand of "the story" of the talents!!!???. God bless, keep on keeping on. PtP.

Tuesday April 27th 2010.
A rather hectic two days that left me a wee bit tired, but very pleasantly so, after a wonderful week end spent celebrating our church "SAMUELS" nursery 20years of continuing success, with some very enjoyable weather, back to the basics, catching up on the odd jobs at both church and home, but last night the most recently competed class of "Freedom in Christ"courses also celebrated with a full evening meal at "The Inn Place" Broadmead ave, when we let our hair down as is said and enjoyed a very wonderful night together, these last few weeks have been a little exhausting but so enjoyable, It was good to hear "Our team leaders" have been invited to run a similar course for "Abington Avenue Church fellowship" they will be pleasantly surprised I believe with the course, now very tried and true, and how being a Christian in the twenty first century is still exciting, exilarating, and above all that ENJOYABLE, now back to the necessary nitty bitty things that make life tick over Cheery bye PtP.

Saturday, 24 April 2010

Sunday April 25th 2010.
We enjoyed a wonderful 20th year of celebration at our fellowship for the birth and growth of "Samuels"the Christian nursery, based at Broadmead, that was the brainchild of Ruth our Pastors wife, and today stands head and shoulders above most others, not me boasting but, born out by the government agency "Ofstad"?? who have awarded us over the years the highest grades possible including the highest merit they can give, so we boast in what GOD has done here through His people, and to HIM alone we give thanks, and we will be sharing together today at our morning service just that, Wall to wall sunshine,a big crowd and lots of fun for all, culminated in a muppetts" show that was both unique and so enjoyable, well done every one
I had a good day starting at the auction I go,to which will now be held weekly and not fortnightly as it has been . I bid for my cycle which was in imaculate condition, and am now the proud owner of a sports type mountain bike with umpteen gears and is fully sprung, front and back making for a very easy and comfortable ride, in the shops they are selling at between £150--180, Igot it for £20-00, thankyou Lord, so shall now use it for local shopping etc, also purchased a " nest of tables" in immaculate condition. Mahogany for the princely sum of £8-00. a pair of beautiful barometers (one which I intend to keep shaped in an anchor) the other will go on our,(soon to be monthly craft stall) at our Church fellowship,to raise funds for the new church building, and a box of pictures aprox ten, for £2-00, intending to use the frames for our Church craft project, an idea of mine, so a good day at the sales Amen. a great day planned today so all systems go go go.
nice little shower o/night helped harden my runner beans, that truly are running nay even galloping I should say, plus a few more bits and bobs to plant out, ,so every thing in the garden is looking great cheery bye for now. PtP.

Wonderful day yesterday, recieved my new car, very pleased, Eileen and I had a short ride to Mkt
Harborough and around, finishing at the the Big Mac place outside there. a place we have often called in over the years for a quick snack. what fantastic weather we are enjoying, so warm ,and the countryside is a glorious picture of nature in all her glory, how people can deny GOD as they look around is to me amazing, I see his hand at work in all around me that my very soul is bursting with adoration to him who created all I can see and enjoy, hallelujha off to join my brethren now and the later to the auction saw a lovely cycle there at yesterday 's viewing, so will see how the bidding goes?? then this afternoon great celebration at our church, on the 20th anniversary of "SAMUELS" our child nursery Praise GOD what a wonderful day lies before us and how fortunate we truly are, cheery bye for now PtP

Friday 23rd April 2010.

Had a wonderful day yesterday, After a steady morning reported for mynsecond cookery course, "spice of life" what a surprise to find there were sixteen people enrolling for the six week course that included five men, thorougly enjoyed it, after we were introduced we watched "Wendi"pot three different recipes together, that gave us a glimpse of what is in store, next week we begin to cook in earnest, so were given a choice of meat or fish to take along with other items etc,so should have a tasty meal to bring home, afterwards we entertained a very good friend and sister in Christ for the evening, I made a very tasty Pot roast with all the trimmings and a sweet of my own
invention, glad to both went down very well, we then spent an enjoyable time just talking to each other, concluding watching the latest three party leaders confrontation on the tv, and finished our evening at ten fifteen, a trule pleasant evening together, fetch my new red shiny car this mornining then of to the local sales auction view to see if I can find anything worth buying , I have decide after seeing some very good cycles at the last few sales, to buy one for myself as I believe it would help me for doing local shopping and the like, plus save a little petrol, also cut down my own carbon footprint, saying that I shall probably find there wont be a suitable one in the sale?? but we shall see, look out my bike trouser clips!!?? cheery bye PtP

Thursday April 22nd 2010
A very exciting meet at Church last night, we have taken the first step towards the possible idea
to demolish our present Church building and erect a brand new one, we have two months to pray,
think, grapple with, the concept we agreed upon last night, then we shall take the monumental task of putting into practice the faith we felt then, and voting in the proposition, we saw the architects proposed project and we all were a little astounded by it, but were thrilled that this may well now pass from planning board to probability, in a few years time. it will of course bring many tears and much pain as we all love the old building with all its faults and problems, but feel this is HIS will, and the way to follow, so hallelujha here we go , whow, watch this space, off for my second course of cookery this afternoon, "the spices of life," sounds mind boggling, but very enjoyable, a new class to meet and I shall be in my glory I can taste and smell the aroma's already bring it all on hurrah PtP

Tuesday 20th April2010
Yesterday evening was the final session of "Freedom in Christ", fifteen of my brethren and I have been following and seeking and enjoying this course, which for me has been the most encouraging, enlightening, and wonderfully happy course that I have attended in my fifty two years of being a christian, we have spent the last thirteen weeks doing, listening, and taking part in what for me can only be described as a real milestone on my spiritual walk with "Jesus Christ" we have planned a meal at a local "Feeding place" to celebrate next Monday, what we all agreed has been an eye opening revelation, as the well known advert says "It does exactly what it says on the tin" I can only say "Thank you", a very busy day today, I have to visit my garage to finalise "And pay"for the Friday delivery of my new car. a visit by my lovely friend "MEL" our hairdresser, a quick salad lunch, then of to my first session on my breadmaking course, whow I can smell the aroma from here?, here we go!! Friday April 2nd 2010
(Good Friday)

for God so loved the world,
not merely the physical, world with all its beauty,
Glorious oceans, majestic mountains, trees, flowers.
But the people who have, will, and do live in it,
People of every, race, creed, or colour.
Young and old, weak and strong, good and not so good.
Saints and sinners, lame and able bodied, healthy and the sick.
People who are easy to like, and those who are not.
Those you admire, and those you despise.
Those who are his church, and those who as yet, do not know what church is all about.
"For God so loved the world He gave his one and only son"
What, oh lord can I give in response, for the lavishness of your giving.

After spending nearly three hours waiting at he hospital yesterday to see the specialist for Eileen's annual check up which lasted the whole of three minutes, glad that today we have no need to go out so I went for an early walk instead, very nice to get around while some are still sleeping and the hurly burly of everyday life has not yet begun, there is a certain peace to be found and relished, so today I hope to get my few potato's planted, and carrots, I have managed to squeeze room for just a small crop of each into my little piece of ground more for the fun and joy of watching them grow really, with a large flower pot ready for a few runner beans, and one tomato plant for Eileen, to plant after our break in just over a weeks time now, so today will I trust be a very relaxed one, mainly to enjoy just being alive. great win for my team (Spurs) last night. WE ARE on our WAY to WEMBLEY, HURRAH, PtP.
