Back to work after a very peaceful and invigourating rest at our second home of Pakefield, the weather was reasonable wet and dry, but we cant do anything about that so "on with the mottley"
as the saying goes,? (whatever is a mottley???) goodness knows, we enjoyed ourselves Eileen didn't gooutside a lot but busied herself wilth her knitting, sewing and reading, which we both did quite a lot. I have quite a number of books some boughtat faith camp that I am pushing on with, one a very beautiful book with superb illustrations and writings of some of our great hymnalists of the past which is very rewarding and stimulating, the other a new picturesqe new edition on the Welsh revivals, with partiticular reference to the great 1904 revival, amazing. this has always held my great interest and I love to look into the situations that both existed and were changed because of theat great intrusion of Gods close involvement at that time, and the revel;ance towards todays Church in particulkar and the nation generally, we have lost so much by the "churchiness" of recent decades and NEED to look again at His word afresh and with renewed urgency and these books help us do just that, providing we read prayerfully and expecxtantly. We had a bonus this time in that unbeknown to us we had accidently bookes the week of Lowestofts famous Air show, and it was free and magnificent, allthough on the Thursday Ihad walked the mile or so along the beach to lowestoft and was really being thrilled by it all when we had a cloudburst, Thunder lightening and Hail that for a few moments turned the beach white, it was amazing and fun, to despite the wetting of us all, a great sight to behold, and as i say a real bonus, culminating in a absolutely tremendous finalle by the Red rrows incredidible sight with such a closeness it was almost frightening the raw power of those machines is awesome. back to the mold now keep on keeping on PtP

  1. Wow - such a lot to comment on but will restrain! An invigourating rest to me is a contradiction of terms!! Tee hee... A Mottley? - Is a mixture in my understanding. Like mottled skin, not clear or the same colour throughout. Mottley lot - all very different. But that is just my own understanding, in which case you are right - you took whatever came and made the most of it.
And the reading and walks and red arrows etc sound fab. Eileen being able to do her crafts within a change of scene - it all is good. ;-D
