Friday, 12th February2010.
Yesterday was a very satisfying and productive one. after a morning at home, spent redecorating our kitchen, I managed to complete the walls with a fresh coat of its present colour (green) then putting a new border up that gave it variety and a nice finish, Eileen and self very satisfied, completed in time to cook what I felt and Eileen accepted, as a nice meal for lunch. ( Honey glazed Pork chops with apple sauce, Sweet potato, Roast potato's, carrots, peas, swede, and Onion Bhargi's) not my own I confess' but brought from Asda, very tasty to I do recommend them, I then decided that it was time to purchase a new "Microwave oven, ours was about on its last legs, so bought one from "Curry's" and glad to say Eileen was we delighted with it, only remains now to read the instruction so we can effectively use its many operations??,whow!! the pamphlet is Loooooong.!! but we shall get there, and it will i'm sure be an asset in the days ahead, after picking up a few plants for my Church garden, which I aim to plant (weather permitting) later today, I then decided to renew aquaintances with a lttle hobby of mine that due to illness I have not pursued for the last two years, namely looking around one of our local "Auction Rooms, not being aware of when they were trading. I picked up the information and found out (luckily for me) that this Friday and Saturday were the dates for their next event, so I intend to mosy over Today and have a look around. I do enjoy, a good brouse around (something inherited from my Father) he loved Jumble sales(sadly no longer it seems part of our modern way of life) he would have loved the "Auction rooms of today, so I'm really following an instinct handed down through my Genes,
I don't purchase a lot, I do most of my BARGAIN finding?? in the many "Charity shops" we have in great abundance around us, which I pop into almost every time I am out, Eileen says" I never know what He's going to turn up with next" I do enjoy these little forays, and I have been successful (My opinion) in some of my "Bargains"?? Eileen thinks "well it keeps him out of mischief" so good on him. cheery bye for now.

  1. Long live the bargain hunters eh! I really enjoy anything like that but try to restrict myself to something I know we will use. Finding replacement items for broken items is a thrill! Waste not want not! It must be the war years which influenced us!
    Enjoy your day. J.

  2. I have only seen one jumble sale since coming to Aus. It seems here... its garage sales (not the garage) community markets or charity shops.... is that the way UK is.
Pity a good rumage roound the jumble sale was fun and one could unearth such treasures.
Although maybe.... the 'throw away' aspect.. of Life has taken on.
